Wherever you are in the world, if you are watching the tennis at Wimbledon and you are watching it live and as it happens, then if you hear an aeroplane fly over the courts...that aeroplane is also flying over my house. So what you hear, I'm seeing. At exactly the same time. Yet we might be thousands of miles apart and in completely different time zones.
Now doesn't that bring us all a little closer together!?
Bizarrely, I also find it incredibly spooky.
FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE
-
Unfortunately, I'm still suffering from this damp weather, I only feel good
when I'm sitting and not doing any physical moves.
Fortunately, we started t...
Not spooky!! most cool. And next week I'll be flying over you. Or near by. Sort of. On my way to Sweden.
ReplyDeleteI think it's great. We live in a wonderful world at a great time in history.
ReplyDeleteit is incredibly spooky whenyou think of it like that...it also makes the world a bit smaller!!
ReplyDeleteEven more spooky in the land of Oz. The tennis is on TV live but we're 9 hrs ahead of you, so it's nightime with the moon shining but you can't see the moon but we can hear your plane!
ReplyDeleteIf Djokovic hadn't got himself knocked out in the second round, I _might_ have been watching in Japan. And I would have definitely listened out for an airplane. :)
ReplyDeleteIt would be even spookier if I was actually watching television instead of blogging.
ReplyDeleteNice sentiment! Karisma hangs head in shame, she does not watch tennis. She did however catch the end of the World Cup Football match,
ReplyDeleteTurkey lost to Germany!
HEY, Thats something for a non sporty person.
I'll think of you when I tune in later...
ReplyDeleteThat is totally creepy. But cool.
ReplyDeleteKinda spooky... When 9/11 happened, my brother was living a few blocks from the World Trade Center. He slept through the whole thing, but when Mom called him, she was watching the TV and Jay was coughing from the ash.
ReplyDeleteHow 'kewl' is that to know! I'm watching all the matches televised from Wimbledon ... but doing so on my DVR because I hate the distraction of commercials and because I'm not always home to view them 'real time' ... in fact as I type this I'm watching the match on Center Court between Keothavong & Venus Williams played while I was at my Photoshop class this morning. It's 2 all in the 1st set and Venus is struggling to hold her serve. Reminds me of the Dechy-Ivanovic match yesterday! What a thriller THAT was ... and that little net court ball must have been a heartbreak for Dechy. Somehow I do feel closer to you knowing this ;--)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
Yes it is weird! My father was once in OZ watching the cricket at the SCG - I stayed up late at home here in the UK, the the dark, knowing we were watching exactly the same thing!
ReplyDeleteI was watching Wimbledon today and thought of you. Sadly, no airplanes though.
