Our Fun Monday host this week is Mariposa and this is our assignment:
Collections...
We all have them...and if you don't, you do....you just may not realize it. For some reason or another we all collect something and we collect it for reasons that will definitely make for good reading. So on Monday, I want to see your collection. If you don't have or don't want or CAN'T (wink) show us a picture, then tell us what the collection is in 10 words or less. Then tell us why you started collecting it.
My collection in 10 words or less:
Books.
Why? My mother instilled a love of reading in me as soon as I was old enough to hold a book...and before as she read to me every night.
Thank you for stopping by my brief Fun Monday post (I'm sorry, it's been a really long week and I was working this weekend!) and don't forget to visit Mariposa to see who else is participating this week!
AWWWW MONDAY - WEEKEND NOVEMBER 16

In contrast to the human race, the males of ducks are more beautiful than
the females! This is scientifically decided ! The last picture must be a ...
ohhh, i love to read too -- although sometimes reading blogs takes over for reading books ;-)
ReplyDeleteBooks provide a tremendous sense of comfort for me.
ReplyDeleteI'gve got a lot of books too, but they are all cookbooks!
ReplyDeleteMe, too! Me, too! (don't work too hard...)
ReplyDeleteWe have a few books too. You bring back fond memories of bedtime reading.
ReplyDeleteSnap. And we've had a mad week too. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteBook, books, books, can't imagine life without them.
ReplyDelete(She boldly says:) I hope to have a new one for your collection early next year. Writing writing writing...
ReplyDeleteI love reading books and got a lot of it. Thanks for joining. Hope you enjoyed this weeks Fun Monday. ;-) Have a great week ahead!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some rest this coming week!
ReplyDeleteI included books in my post too....the stacks of unread books that are taking over my house.
I love books, too - just don't have time to read them anymore. Sigh. And the new house has no wallspace for bookcases. They are languishing in boxes in my closet. Poor things!
ReplyDeleteA few people have mentioned books. I don't know why I didn't think of books. We have a house full and a lot from my and my children's childhood packed away in boxes. I can't bear to get rid of them.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy reading myself and keep only the books that I wish to re-read again. Thanks for sharing your collection.
ReplyDeleteA popular theme today...and a good one. I can totally relate.
ReplyDeleteAhh..books..I cannot live without them!!
ReplyDeleteYes, books are great. I've even kept some that my kids have outgrown!
ReplyDeleteI think books are the big winner on the collection front. Last week I add three to my collection all be local writers, but next week they go off to other to read and enjoy, so I'm not a true collector.
ReplyDeleteI hear you AOJ--nothing makes a true book lover feel more secure than to have many stacks waiting in the wings to be read--and read again when they're really good.
ReplyDeleteHope your week calms down.
Sorry you have had a long week but there is nothing wrong with a short and sweet comment!
ReplyDeleteTake care.
Jennifer
I've winnowed down my book collection to 200, not counting the Betty Neels romance novels I keep in my bedroom closet and don't admit to owning.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to pass books on to church sales or to Goodwill after I read them, but it's not easy. It's going against the habits of a lifetime.
I do believe that books have been the biggest collectors item!
ReplyDeleteBooks, geocaches, gadgets, maps. Passport stamps my son has long exceeded my total, my ex partner collection has slowed down a bit too.
ReplyDeleteWow, how short, you are running on little time. :)
ReplyDeleteBooks are grand and I should have included them. Oh well.
